Westview won the team title with a round of 332, besting Gibson County by four strokes. Dyer County finished third at 340.
Displaying the award for top honors in district golf tournament competition are (left to right) Westview competitors Alex Parham, Madison Hughey, Jordan Hayes, Alex Campbell and Austin Smith. The Chargers' victory sends them to Region 7 play Tuesday at the Tennessee River Golf Club in Decaturville.
Members of Gibson County's district runner-up golf team include (left to right) Tyler Ray, Payton Russom, Justin Rea, Justin Woods and Taylor Maitland. The Pioneers recorded a round of 336 at The Farms, in Dyersburg, to edge Dyer County (340) for second-place honors. Westview, the champion, Gibson County and Dyer County each advance to Region 7 competition Tuesday in Decaturville.
Golfers Wes Newbill (left), of Dyersburg, and Adam Clark, of Dyer County, finished Tuesday's District 14 A-AA competition at The Farms with identical scores of 77. With the top five individual scorers earning medals, the duo played an extra round to decide third place. Newbill nipped Clark in a two-hole playoff.
